Softskills Training Consultants (STC) Trainer appointed as HP Anti-Counterfeit Awareness Trainer, May
2006
Martin Stevens has been appointed as the EMEA South African region
Trainer for Hewlett Packard’s Anti-Counterfeit Awareness Programme. This programme
aims to educate HP's customers about the risks and damaging consequences of
using counterfeit consumables including Inkjet and LaserJet cartridges.
Counterfeiting in a general sense is the unauthorised application or use of
a trademark on goods without approval of the brand owner.
The risks and consequences for victims of counterfeit printing supplies
include:
* Counterfeit cartridges can cause a variety of risks such as substantial
loss of print quality, lower yields, high failure rates and ink or toner
leakage.
* Counterfeit cartridges can lead to more calls to the IT help-desk and the
need to procure replacement cartridges, which means lost work time and
reduced productivity.
* Counterfeit cartridges might damage a company‘s entire printer
infrastructure, causing considerable repair costs and incalculable workflow
consequences.
* Counterfeit cartridges render equipment warranties null and void.
This training initiative is available to Channel Partners, their Customers
and other users of HP products. More information can be requested from

History to the design of the logo
The logo was designed using Corel Draw. The initial option for a logo
consisted of a book of knowledge, a fountain of knowledge, a person thinking
and an atlas with a book embedded in it. As the design process continued, so
did the frustration of choosing the right logo to give off the right
message. From the atlas design, we used a textured ball design and then,
probably more through frustration than creativity, the atlas was manipulated
into 5 objects, each representing an area of speciality within the company,
namely business skills, interpersonal skills, ETQA, labour services and youth
development.
Softskills Training Consultants (STC) had a new logo...just like that!
