Be
aware of Counterfeit Consumable Products
What is counterfeiting and fraudulent marketing of fakes?
- Counterfeiting in a general sense is the unauthorised application or use of
a trademark on goods without approval
of the brand owner.
- Fraudulent marketing of counterfeits is the intentional deception of
customers by dealing in such fake products.
- For HP customers, this can mean being deceived into believing your toner or
ink cartridge is original when in fact it may have been refilled and is now
paraded as original.
Please note: refilled/remanufactured products that are
marketed as refilled, remanufactured, or recycled are not counterfeit!

Risks and consequences for victims of counterfeit printing
supplies
In addition to the macro-economic impacts of counterfeiting,
print cartridge fakes often directly harm unsuspecting customers in the
following ways:
- End users may face e.g. severe print process malfunction, substandard
printout quality, altered yields and even serious printer damage.
- Corporate customers may experience e.g. printing infrastructure breakdowns
and interrupted workflows entailing tremendous extra costs.

Commercial and Retail Business Partner Training
Background to the Programme
HP's Imaging and Printing Group, also known as IPG and Softskills Training
Consultants have been working together since 2005 to offer product and
business skills training to HP's Channel Partners and other customers,
focusing on Printers, Ink and Toner, Paper as well as Selling Skills training
to its Commercial and Retail Channel Partners nationally and in the African
regions. Channel Partners consist of distributors, retailers and
resellers of original HP printers, cartridges and paper supplies and
accessories.
The Selling Skills programme has been designed specifically to
meet the needs of the Channel Partners and the training covers all aspects of
selling from basic to advanced selling to presentation skills as well as
device training at HP's state-of-the-art Experience and Solutions Centre in
